One father is more than a hundred Schoolmasters.
Father’s Day Quote by: George Herbert, Outlandish Proverbs, 1640

This is one of the many quotes you will hear this weekend in appreciation of all the great Dad’s as we celebrate Father’s Day.

It’s hard not to feel a little sorry for all the Dad’s. Mothers get flowers, chocolates, breakfast in bed and spa vouchers. Too often the Dad’s get handkerchiefs, ties and socks but all the same we still have a real fondness for these great guys.

He will tell you you are a great driver even when you failed to start the car for the 4th attempt in a driving lesson.

He has an abundance of proverbs such as “Never Refuse Tea or Money”.

He will give you a lift when he could easily have said get the bus.

He is a DIY expert.

The time (or many times) he told your mother to leave you alone you’ll be grand.

The time you both pretended you could not hear your mother shouting about mowing the lawn when the match was on the TV.

The time he brought you fishing and he made excuses to tell you why you caught nothing.

The time he watched you playing football and told you you were great even though you missed a sitter.

If you can smile and any of these apply to you then you have a great Dad.

If you are still looking for a gift for your Dad then call into any of your local Corrib Oil stores where you can purchase a Gift Card and Dad can buy fuel  for the car, oil for the house or any of the delicious meals and treats from our deli & bakery.
